Discover how Smelling Pink uses scent therapy to support healing, wellness, and emotional connection—especially for families, seniors, and neurodivergent children.
Sometimes, the most effective healing approaches are also the most overlooked. As a mother of a child on the spectrum, I explored a wide range of therapies beyond pharmaceuticals. While I’m not against medication, I felt compelled to try other options first—looking closely at my son’s diet, sleep habits, physical activity, time outdoors, and social engagement. These are basic, yet powerful elements that can get overlooked when a diagnosis shifts the focus solely to what’s “wrong.”
For me, a diagnosis never meant my child was broken—it meant I had to become more attentive, creative, and connected. Through that journey, I became a better mother and, eventually, an expert in my field. I learned that emotional communication can happen in many ways—and scent therapy became one of the most powerful tools I discovered.
Smelling Pink was born from this deep understanding: that scent can reach parts of the brain untouched by words, and offer comfort where other therapies might fall short. Just like horses have shown promise in helping children heal from trauma, I’ve witnessed how scent—subtle, sensory, and soulful—can reconnect people to their own emotions and memories.
As a horsewoman myself, I’ve seen firsthand how animals can sense what we miss. Their intuitive ability to connect mirrors what I aim to offer through Smelling Pink: a pathway back to connection, wellness, and dignity—especially for seniors and those isolated in long-term care.
COVID taught us many hard lessons. One of the most critical? We need more accessible, meaningful tools to support emotional well-being—especially for vulnerable populations. Smelling Pink is my response to that call.
